Bangladesh Cricket Board has raised the fees, allowances and benefits for cricketers participating in the National Cricket League (NCL), the four-day first class competition, according to a press release of BCB on Monday.

According to the new scale match fees of Tier 1 player has increased 71% to become 60,000 taka per match from current sum of 35,000 while the players of Tier 2 will enjoy a 100% hike as their fee is increased to 50,000 from 25,000.

BCB has also announced to provide air travel cost instead of travelling allowance, which was 2,500 taka for both tiers, however, in case of venues which cannot be reached through air, players will receive 3,500 taka for travel.

The daily allowance also saw an increase of 67% as players of both tiers will receive 2,500 taka per taka instead of 1500 taka that they receive during NCL games currently.

The press release confirmed that the changes will be applicable from the ongoing 21st NCL and it also mentioned that substantial increase has been made to team accommodation (up to 80%) and match day catering (up to 85 percent) allocations. It also ensured that transport allocation has been increased to ensure air conditioned buses for team movements between hotel and venue.

The announcement has come after a tumultuous week of Bangladesh cricket following a strike of all the top players in the country for indefinite period demanding better facilities for players in domestic circuit and improve country’s cricketing atmosphere.

In the 13-point demand of players the increase of payment for NCL was a prominent one, and as BCB ensured they will fulfill the demands the players have withheld the strike and resumed to cricketing activities.

Currently the national players are taking part in the training camp for the forthcoming India tour while first class players are busy playing the third round of NCL for their respective sides.
