Online Rabindra Jayanti Celebrations on occasion of the 159th birthday celebrations of Rabindranath Tagore– ‘মহাবিশ্বে হে ভুবনেশ্বর, হৃদয় মাঝে রয়েছ জন্ম জন্মান্তর’

This curated film includes performances as a tribute to Rabindranath Tagore, directed by Sumita Mukherjee. The aim of this project is to dive deeper into the genius creations of the ‘Bard of Bengal’ and ensure it reaches audience across the globe.

The mega project is spanning across 71 artists from 14 countries (India, Bangladeshi, USA, Australia, Canada, UAE, UK, Kenya, Malaysia ,Philippines, New Zealand, South Africa, Tanzania). It also includes artist from South Africa singing in Bengali language and also Rabindranath’s family line relatives sharing memories of him.

The Program spans across 9 chapters or themes like - Robi ‘O Prem, Robi ‘O Ritu, Robi ‘O Biplob (Tagore and Love, Seasons, Revolution) etc. The performances by luminary artists like #Soumitro_Roy (Bhoomi band), #Upal, #Emon_Chatterjee, #Debojit_Saha, #Mithali, #Ashish_Vidyarthi, #Ekavali_Khanna, #Joy_Sengupta, #Kazi_mahtab_shuman and more are curated to a 120 minutes film. The different works of Tagore are expressed by the artists in songs, dance recital, theatre, yoga, fashion show, poetry and more! The program is organised by Bandana Paul and Edited -  Produced by Shubh Mukherjee, IPIX Movies.

The teaser released last week is getting exceptional interest since it is one of a kind event with participation from across the world and aimed to reach out to global audiences. The final film scheduled to be released on May 30-31 May in two parts across social media platforms, this film will go a long way to embed the genius of the Nobel laureate, Tagore into hearts of a million across the world.
