Educational institutions to reopen after June 12

The government has extended the ongoing closure of all educational institutions in the country till June 12.

Education Minister Dipu Moni announced the extension of the ongoing closure while addressing a virtual press conference at 12 noon on Wednesday.

However, the minister said after June 12, all secondary and higher secondary level educational institutions will be opened.

“We have taken all kind of measure in this regard,” she said in this regard.

On May 15, the government announced that all secondary and higher secondary level educational institutions of the country will remain closed till May 29, in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Later, government also announced its decision to ensure vaccination of all students before opening colleges and universities for in-person academic activities.

In mid-March last year, the government had closed all educational institutions in a bid to tackle the pandemic. The closure was extended in several phases while online schooling took off.
